Who Can Enter?
Students in Grades 11 and 12 who go to school in MP Don Davies’ riding (Vancouver Kingsway).
Eligibility includes grade 10 students who are taking a grade 11 or 12 socials or civics class.

How Many Winners will be Selected?
Two winners will be chosen from all submissions.
Number of Submissions
- Each student may submit up to two ideas
Deadline for Submissions
- 9:00 pm Pacific, February 28, 2012
- Bills must be submitted online, through the Create Your Canada website (Using this document)
- Contest winners will be announced on March 31, 2012
- The prize trips to Ottawa will occur as soon as possible after the winners are announced.
Prizes
The two winning students will receive a free trip to Ottawa to watch Don Davies present their bills in the House of Commons. The trip package includes flights, accommodations, and food.
- If a contest winner decides not to accept the prizes offered, then the winner receives no prize.
- Prizes may not be substituted for any amount of money.
- By submitting their bills, contestants agree to the release of their bills and the use of their name and the name of their school on the Create Your Canada website and in other press materials.

Can I do this project with a friend?
Students may submit entries individually or in a group of two.
Who picks the winner?
A panel of judges that includes leaders in various backgrounds including education, law, media, arts, and more will review all submissions.
Judging Criteria
Submissions will be judged based on:
- Organization
Clear expression of ideas and direct connection between the stated issue and proposed solution
- Originality
Does the bill tackle the stated issue in a new and unique way
- Jurisdiction
The bill must be within the realm of federal powers
- Benefit and/or Impact
Does the proposed bill have a positive impact on society
- Ease of Enforcement
Can the proposed bill be easily enforceable or will enforcement be a challenge
